7th Axis Central Frame Ø38
By maintaining the orientation during the interpress movement, the parts are moving smoothly, with minimum inertia and vibration. The robot cycle and the press occupation time are significantly reduced, resulting in a relevant output improvement. Also, in case of few lines, the floor occupation can be optimized by the reduction of the interpress distance.
Different kinematics are used for this purpose:
The RR7 maintains the orientation by combining the 6th and the 7th axis rotations. In the RL7, a linear double action unit enables a linear part movement. The robot wrist, including the 7th axis motors and gearboxes are, at all times, maintained out of the dies when transferring parts.
As part of the 7th axis robot solutions, ABB has designed specific tooling considering the premises of lightness, robustness and integrating an easy-to-use detachable system for the production changeover
R7 tooling is composed by 2 side frames, easily detachable form the central adaptor. Each side frame is clamped individually to the central adaptor by 2 manual clamps and one pneumatic clamp.
